Welcome Week 2025 Universidade de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro

From 17 to 21 November 2025, the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD), Portugal, hosted the EU-GIFT Welcome Week, bringing together activities focused on innovation, sustainability, academic mobility and knowledge exchange.

The programme included practical demonstrations of precision agriculture using drones, seminars on food products with geographical identity, and sessions dedicated to mobility opportunities within the EU-GIFT Alliance.

Participants also had the opportunity to explore the region’s agri-food and wine sectors through visits to industry organisations, UTAD’s Experimental Winery and Botanical Garden, alongside wine and olive oil tasting activities.

The Welcome Week highlighted EU-GIFT’s commitment to international cooperation, sustainable agriculture and the exchange of knowledge and experiences across European universities.
