Students from the universities of the EU–GIFT alliance connect through sport, culture, and shared experiences in Verona
The EU–GIFT Sport Week brings together students from the universities that make up the alliance, coming from Spain (University of La Rioja), France (Bordeaux Sciences Agro), Germany (University of Geisenheim), Portugal (University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro), Hungary (Eszterházy Károly Catholic University), Romania (University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Cluj-Napoca), and Italy (University of Verona), from Saturday, April 26th to Thursday, April 30th.
This initiative offers international students the opportunity to experience university life in Verona through sport, discovering the activities, facilities, and services available at the University of Verona, alongside cultural experiences connected to the local area and its traditional products.
The programme of activities began on Sunday, April 26th in Valpolicella, the second protected designation of origin (PDO) wine region in Italy, renowned for the production of red wines in Verona, east of Lake Garda.
Until Thursday, April 30th, the programme includes visits to the San Floriano Sports Centre and Department of Biotechnology at Villa Lebrecht, kayaking activities on the Adige River, a visit to the Movement Sciences laboratories and the University Sports Centre of Verona, as well as a social gathering at the Santa Marta campus.
