International Opportunities and Career Pathways at the EU-GIFT Career Days
Eszterházy Károly Catholic University. From 23 to 25 September
For three days, international learning, mobility and career opportunities took centre stage at Eszterházy Károly Catholic University. From 23 to 25 September, the EU-GIFT Career Days gave students the opportunity to discover the European university alliance, its partner institutions, academic programmes and the opportunities offered by gaining international experience through a range of engaging and interactive activities.
What is EU-GIFT and what opportunities can it offer students? Where could a student interested in viticulture, the food industry or sustainability continue their studies? What academic programmes and mobility opportunities are available at the alliance’s partner institutions? These were among the questions addressed throughout the three-day programme.
Students explored the world of EU-GIFT through interactive presentations, a Kahoot quiz and team challenges. Alongside European gastronomy and wine culture, they were introduced to the alliance’s key areas of focus, including sustainable agriculture, food innovation and initiatives building on local knowledge and heritage.
One of the highlights of the programme was the EU-GIFT Challenge, where students put their creative and problem-solving skills to the test through a series of team-based tasks. Among other challenges, they had to identify which partner institution and field of study would best match different student profiles, and develop ideas for turning a local product into a sustainable initiative with international potential.
At the heart of the Career Days, however, was the students’ future. Participants received practical information about mobility opportunities, studying abroad and ways to get involved in EU-GIFT activities. Through presentations of the partner countries and institutions, they also discovered that an international study experience can provide not only new knowledge, but also international connections, cultural experiences and future career opportunities.
At the end of the three-day event, the best-performing teams were recognised as EU-GIFT Master Team, EU-GIFT Explorer and EU-GIFT Rookie, while all participants left with valuable experiences and new perspectives.
The message of the EU-GIFT Career Days was simple: look beyond borders – your next study or career opportunity may be waiting in another European country.
