Food & Drinks Transylvania | Business & Education Hub

The European project EU GIFT supports collaboration between universities and the economic sector in order to develop relevant skills and connect education with the real needs of society.

In this context, the Faculty of Food Science and Technology at USAMV Cluj-Napoca hosted, on March 13, 2026, the Food & Drinks Transylvania | Business & Education Hub event, dedicated to fostering dialogue between academia and the food industry.

Representatives of companies from the food sector – including dairy, meat, bakery, confectionery, beverages, and retail – met with academic staff and specialists to discuss:

• Innovation in the food industry.
• The skills and competencies required from graduates.
• The challenges faced by young professionals at the beginning of their careers.
• The development of practical training, internships, and dual education programs.
• Adapting study programs to current labor market requirements.

Such meetings contribute to strengthening a real partnership between education and industry, supporting the development of a new generation of specialists prepared to meet the challenges of the food sector.
