Representatives from the Enorregión Project – International Wine Campus undertook an institutional trip to Georgia from July 3rd to 7th, 2023, with the aim of strengthening the relations between the University of La Rioja and the International University of the Caucasus (CIS).

The Enorregión project aims, among other things, at the green and digital transformation of the value chain for wine and high-quality differentiated foods. To achieve this, two priority areas of action focus on generating knowledge to attain leadership in research, development, and innovation in the field of wine and food, as well as providing education at different levels and in various modalities within this domain.

The development of these priority areas requires the establishment of an International Wine Campus that necessitates mobilizing human and material resources to carry out the assigned activities.

In this regard, the University of La Rioja is leading the creation of an alliance of European Universities specializing in wine and high-quality differentiated foods. The allianceconsists of partners from European higher education institutions located in different European regions known for their wine production and the production of geographically identified food products. The objective is to design a joint strategic plan focused on excellence in teaching and research in this field. These institutions will offer joint study programs and facilitate mobility for students, professors, and researchers across different university campuses.

Within this objective, the visit was conducted by Elena González Fandos, director of the Enorregión project, and Miguel Angel Acedo, deputy director of the European Wine University project, along with other professors from the University of La Rioja.
